For Immediate
Release:
The
Collaboration Systems Group (CSG) has announced
a name change to its popular Revit Model
Hosting Service.
The product will now be called “CSG BIM Cloud”.
Scott Noble,
President of CSG, stated, “Having released this
product almost two years ago, and having
just attended
Autodesk University 2011 and hearing all of the
“cloud” branding there, we decided that a
name change was
in order to capitalize on the familiarity of the
cloud terminology within the user
community”.
CSG’s BIM Cloud
supports the BIM workflow by providing access to
a project folder on the CSG BIM
Cloud server,
where your data and model(s) are stored. By
accelerating the traffic across the VPN
connection with
Riverbed’s WAN Acceleration technology, CSG is
providing near-LAN speed access from
your laptop or
workstation running Revit, when directly
accessing your model on our server. Simply
stated, CSG’s
service enables the proven LAN-based workflow
you use today to work the same way for
the WAN/VPN
users, regardless of their physical location.
“By addressing
Latency associated with Wide Area Networking
with Riverbed, rather than trying to work
around it with
RDP or other technology”, states Mr. Noble, “the
users can work live on their model on
our server,
without really knowing it’s not stored on their
own local server”.
